Privacy Policy
Kobo Shimazu（工房島津） ("we", "our") describes the data practices of our official website and the planned data processing for SelfMap, which is in development. This official website does not collect SelfMap reflection logs or transmit them to the Claude API.
1. Data Minimization & Collection
On our current website, we do not collect or store unnecessary personally identifiable information, except for contact information submitted voluntarily through inquiries. We use that contact information to answer inquiries.
2. Data Policy in "SelfMap"
For our upcoming service, SelfMap, the following are our design policies. Data protection mechanisms remain in MVP development and are planned for implementation and validation.
- Data Minimization: Our policy is to handle only the minimal information required to support self-understanding and reflection.
- Restricted Purpose: Our policy is to use reflection logs and unstructured journal entries solely to provide personal analysis and feedback. Apart from external AI processing necessary for analysis, we prohibit disclosure to third parties for unrelated purposes, unauthorized sale, and use in training publicly available models.
- External AI Transmission & Security: In SelfMap, we plan to transmit the portions of user-entered free text and reflection logs needed for analysis to Anthropic’s Claude API using encrypted communication, for reflection analysis and feedback generation. The integration is in development; the data sent, purposes, and conditions will be disclosed before testing begins. Our policy prohibits unauthorized use of input for external model training.
- Our Storage & Retention: Storage and retention periods and deletion conditions for SelfMap inputs, analysis results, and operational logs are still under consideration. We will finalize and publish them in this policy before closed testing begins. We do not currently guarantee a specific retention period or immediate deletion.
- External AI Retention: Anthropic’s retention periods depend on the API features, models, and contractual terms used, with exceptions such as abuse prevention and legally required retention. We will verify and disclose the conditions for our chosen configuration before testing begins. Our own storage and deletion are separate from external AI retention.
